Gayla Robbins Mair most recently served as Senior Director of Programs and Strategy for The National Charter Collaborative (NCC), supporting single-site charter school leaders of color. Before this, she served as Director of Accountability in the Portfolio Innovation and Accountability Office at NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS), where she oversaw the academic, organizational and financial performance of twenty-seven (27) of the seventy-six (76) charter schools that comprise the Orleans Parish School District. Before working at NOLA-PS, Mrs. Mair worked as a nonprofit education leader serving as Director of Partnerships. Additionally, Gayla was on the founding team and served as a Board Director for Resurgence Hall Charter School in Atlanta, GA. The former Teacher of the Year has a decade of experience as a chemistry teacher at a Title I high school. Gayla has also served as a charter school application evaluator for several cycles with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC).
Gayla Robbins Mair received her B.S in Chemistry from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, and her M.A. in Organization and Leadership from Columbia University, Teachers College in New York, NY. Gayla is also a graduate of the Harvard Institute for Superintendents and District Leaders (HISD).
